The team has worked on both big Russian federal projects and international projects in western jurisdictions, the CIS and EMEA.

Evgeny Zhurba has more than 15 years’ experience in the legal industry and, for ten years, headed legal departments at the biggest IT integrator LANIT and IT investment fund Digital October. He is included in the top 50 best legal directors according to the Kommersant rating, and is a winner of the Corporate Lawyer and Legal Insight ratings.

“The legal market today is actively changing. We are constantly analysing our clients‘ portfolios, talking to them, not only to understanding the clients’ needs and problems, but also trying to play ahead of the curve, promoting a multi-service approach.

We see a steady request trend for optimisation and automation of legal departments and back-office units, and there are reasons for this. Over the last 3-5 years, technologies in the legal sphere have made a powerful leap forwards and many interesting and worthy products have appeared in our store, allowing us to achieve a high economic and organisational effect, greatly simplifying and facilitating routine work.

We work with very demanding clients. They see the field for automating their work and feel the need for internal integration services. Few of them are suited to ‘boxed’ products, often they need ‘tailor-made’ solutions consisting of several linked software products built organically into the processes and structure of the legal department.

This is where our expertise lies. We have an excellent understanding of existing solutions in legal work, their features and limitations, prices, resources and terms for implementation, and not only help in choosing the most suitable ones, but also act as a ‘technical customer’ and project manager for clients, ensuring implementation and organic integration of solutions into the client team’s work, help with adaptation, training and are responsible for the implemented solution fully meeting the client’s objectives and efficiency requirements’, said Dmitry Bazarov, BGP Litigation Partner.

"The legal industry was at the rearguard of process digitalisation but there were reasons for this: there were few decent products and, in general, the technology was not developed enough for this purpose. Now the situation is different: there are good products with a successful implementation track record, and technologies allow us to meet the new growth rates of efficiency and effectiveness, while resources are freed from routine to resolve business problems. Our superpower is that, on the one hand, we have a good understanding of legal professionals’ needs, areas that are already well digitalised and, on the other hand, we have an excellent understanding of the market for effective products that actually work. We are able to implement them to the end, acting as project managers. Our team includes specialists with good experience in in-house, consulting, IT solutions development and implementation, and we work in partnership with most of the relevant product developers and implementation teams. We have a subtle understanding of the needs of legal departments, see what will produce a real financial and organisational effect, and are ready to create and implement an optimal system of solutions for lawyers and back-office, taking into account company specifics, industry features and particular business objectives”, said practice head Evgeny Zhurba
