BGP Litigation Announces Sergey Morozov Has Joined the Firm as a Partner

BGP Litigation announces that Sergey Morozov has joined the firm as an International and Sanctions Disputes Partner. Sergey will join BGP Litigation's existing Cross-border Disputes, Compliance and Sanctions Practices and strengthen the Middle East Desk.

Sergey has over 13 years’ experience in dispute resolution and sanctions counselling. He combines unique experience of working with international law firms in Russia and the US as consultant and inhouse lawyer on the side of public and private clients.

Sergey handles complex cross-border disputes involving significant sums, often with a large number of parallel proceedings in different jurisdictions. He has acted for sovereigns and investors in investment disputes, defended clients in ad hoc arbitrations and under the rules of all major institutions, in maritime disputes, and in state courts in Russia, the US and Canada. His experience includes coordinating the defence of the Russian Federation in investment arbitrations and related proceedings in cases involving Yukos, Naftogaz, Krymenergo, Privatbank and R. Akhmetov worth over USD 70 bln. Sergey has also provided comprehensive legal support for foreign projects and sanctions disputes for one leader of the Russian Forbes rating. He has acted as an arbitrator in a number of arbitration cases. His projects have covered Europe, UK, the Bermuda, the Isle of Man, India, Canada, the USA, Switzerland and South-East Asia.

Sergey has authored numerous publications on arbitration, mediation, procedural and civil law and frequently speaks at legal conferences. He has been awarded RAA40 Top 10 Young Arbitration Practitioners and is a member of the Russian Arbitrators Guide. Sergey graduated with merit from the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University and received his LL.M. degree from Pepperdine University School of Law (California, USA). He is admitted to practise in Russia and New York State.
